FLORIDA EMPLOYMENT SITUATION: FOURTH QUARTER 1992

 ATLANTA, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The unemployment rate for Florida during the fourth quarter of 1992 averaged 7.2 percent (seasonally adjusted), according to Janet S. Rankin, regional commissioner for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, in Atlanta.
 The fourth quarter rate was 1.6 percentage points below the third quarter rate of 8.8 percent. The fourth quarter rate this year was 0.2 percentage point lower than the fourth quarter rate in 1991.
 Nationally, the average rate of unemployment for the fourth quarter of 1992 was 7.3 percent, 0.1 percentage point above that of Florida.
 Florida's average total employment for the fourth quarter in 1992 was 6,098,000 workers, approximately 50,000 above the third quarter 1992 level. Approximately 117,000 more Floridians held jobs during the fourth quarter in 1992 than during the same period a year ago.
