 ATLANTA, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The unemployment rate for


Florida during the fourth quarter of 1991 averaged 7.2 percent (seasonally adjusted), according to Janet S. Rankin, regional commissioner for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, in Atlanta.
 The fourth quarter rate was 0.8 percentage point below the third quarter rate of 8.0 percent. The fourth quarter rate this year was 1.2 percentage points higher than the fourth quarter rate in 1990.
 Nationally, the average rate of unemployment for the fourth quarter of 1991 was 6.9 percent, 0.3 percentage point below that of Florida.
 Florida's average total employment for the fourth quarter in 1991 was 5,990,000 workers, approximately 48,000 above the third quarter 1991 level. Approximately 73,000 less Floridians held jobs during the fourth quarter in 1991 than during the same period a year ago.
