FLORIDA EMPLOYMENT SITUATION: SECOND QUARTER 1993 (d)

 ATLANTA, July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The unemployment rate for Florida during the second quarter of 1993 averaged 7.0 percent (seasonally adjusted), according to Janet S. Rankin, Regional Commissioner for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, in Atlanta.
 The second quarter rate was 0.1 percentage point below the first quarter rate of 7.1 percent and 1.3 percentage points lower than the second quarter rate in 1992.
 Nationally, the average rate of unemployment for the second quarter of 1993 was 7.0 percent, the same as Florida's.
 Florida's average total employment for the second quarter in 1993 was 6,290,000 workers, approximately 92,000 above the first quarter 1993 level, and 286,000 above the level for the second quarter of 1992.
