FLEET FINANCIAL GROUP TO REDEEM SUBORDINATED CAPITAL NOTES

 PROVIDENCE, R.I. May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Fleet Financial Group (NYSE: FLT) announced today that it has called for redemption its $50 million of Floating Rate Subordinated Notes Due 1996 and its $100 million of Floating Rate Subordinated Capital Notes Due 1997.
 Both issues will be redeemed at par. The redemption dates will be June 21, 1993, for the 1996 notes and July 20, 1993, for the 1997 notes.
 Fleet Financial Group is a $45-billion diversified financial services company listed of the New York Stock Exchange with approximately 1,200 offices nationwide. Its lines of business include commercial and consumer banking, mortgage banking, consumer finance, asset-based lending, investment management, and student loan processing.
