FLEET FINANCE OFFERS CUSTOMERS IN NEW IBERIA, LAFAYETTE AND
CROWLEY, LA., AREAS DEFERRED LOAN PAYMENTS UNTIL NOVEMBER 1992
NEW IBERIA, La., Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Due to the excessive damage caused by Hurricane Andrew, Fleet Finance, Inc. has deferred the loan payments of the majority of its customers in the New Iberia, Lafayette and Crowley, La., areas until November 1992.
"Many of our customers and employees are dealing with major catastrophic losses and the day-to-day struggle of life," said Charles Autry, executive vice president for Fleet Finance. "We want to let our customers know that we are concerned for their welfare and well-being. Having to think about a loan payment right now should be the least of anyone's concerns, and we agree. We hope that other financial institutions in the area are offering their customers the same latitude."
All Fleet Finance customers will be notified as quickly as possible by mail of their loan deferments. The loan deferments apply to all loans from real estate to small consumer loans. Those customers with immediate questions can contact the Fleet Financenter in Lafayette at 4416 Johnston St., Suite 7-D, 318-988-0491, or in Crowley at 2010 N. Parkerson, 318-788-3781. Both of these offices are open for business. The Fleet Financenter office in New Iberia will be closed for about one month. Customers for that office should contact the Lafayette office.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Fleet Finance has 10 branches in Louisiana, and 135 branches in 23 states. Established in 1935, Fleet Finance is a subsidiary of Fleet Financial Group (NYSE: FLT).
