FLEET'S MICHAEL ZUCCHINI ELECTED TO VISA U.S.A. BOARD

 SAN FRANCISCO, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael R. Zucchini, vice chairman of Fleet Financial Group (NYSE: FLT) in Providence, R.I., has been elected to the board of directors of Visa U.S.A.
 Zucchini, 46, heads Fleet's entire consumer franchise, including consumer banking at all Fleet banks, mortgage banking, operations and technology, consumer finance, student loan processing, consumer products and services, and corporate advertising. He joined Fleet in 1987 and became vice chairman in March 1993.
 A graduate of Pace University with bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration, Zucchini received the 1987 Achievement in Managing Information Technology Award granted by Carnegie-Mellon Graduate School of Industrial Administration. Fortune magazine named him an "Executive on the Rise" in 1990. Zucchini also was the subject of a 1989 Harvard Business School case study that focused on the role of a chief information officer in a leading company. He currently serves on the Rhode Island Hospital Board of Directors.
 Visa U.S.A., a membership association of more than 16,000 financial institutions, is the nation's largest consumer payment system with 149 million cards issued in the United States.
