 FIVE-MINUTE FILM, CREATED BY CAMPBELL-MITHUN-ESTY,
INTRODUCES MOTOR CITY TO NEW JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- People attending the North American Auto Show which began Saturday, Jan. 11, at Cobo Center in Detroit will get their first glimpse of the long-awaited new Jeep(R) Grand Cherokee.
A five-minute film, created by Campbell-Mithun-Esty (CME) Advertising for Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C), introduces auto show visitors to the power, performance and style of the newest member of the Jeep family, "4.5 billion years in the making."
Using some of the world's great wonders like the Egyptian pyramids, the Himalaya Mountains and the Mayan temples of Belize as backdrops, the off-road capabilities and creature comforts of the Grand Cherokee are captured on a four-screen video wall. Running footage of the new Cherokee tackling sand, snow, rain and rugged terrain are contrasted with beauty shots of the vehicle's interior. Throughout, the film conveys the go-anywhere, do-anything ability of "The New Jeep."
The music is an original score by Detroiter Joe LoDuca who has also scored a number of feature films. The soundtrack was recorded in Los Angeles by a group of UCLA students playing instruments native to each of the cultures represented in the film.
The CME team responsible for the film includes John Keenan, art director; Kent Woodman, copywriter; Jim Brown, producer; Gary Topolewski, acting creative director; and Anthony Kuhn, management supervisor.
The five-minute film is part of the first phase of a totally integrated marketing plan developed by CME for the launch of the Grand Cherokee.
