 FIVE-DAY WEEK RESTORES HOLIDAY DIP IN U.S. AUTO PRODUCTION
 DETROIT, Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- This week's scheduled build of 208,984 U.S. cars and trucks rose 76.7 percent above the prior three-day Thanksgiving week and 14.4 percent above the year-ago week, which contained five days.
 U.S. carmakers plan to build 125,781 units this week, 81.7 percent above the previous week and 8.9 percent above the year-ago week.
 So far this year, 5,120,155 U.S. cars have been assembled, 12.7 percent below 1990 at this point in the year.
 Truck output in the U.S. is scheduled at 83,203 units, 69.7 percent above the prior week and 23.8 percent above the year-ago week.
 Year-to-date, 3,290,901 trucks have been produced, 11.1 percent below 1990's tally at this time.
 U.S. estimated car production is shared by manufacturers as follows: General Motors, 45.9 percent; Ford Motor Co., 21.0 percent; Chrysler Corp., 8.0 percent; Honda of America Manufacturing Inc., 7.9 percent; Mazda Motor Manufacturing (USA) Corp., 3.7 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. Inc., 3.7 percent; New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., 3.4 percent; Diamond-Star Motors, 2.8 percent; Nissan Motor Manufacturing, Inc., 2.5 percent; and Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 1.1 percent.
