Byline: BEV LYONS; CLEMMIE MOODIE

JESSIE J last night bagged a record five nominations for next month's MOBO Awards in Glasgow.

At the launch bash in London, the 23-year-old singer was stunned to be shortlisted in five categories - best newcomer, best UK act, best album, best video and best song for her stomping No.1 single Do It Like a Dude.

Jessie said: "I am so honoured. I have watched so many of the artists I look up to being nominated, winning awards and performing - it's amazing to be in the company of such amazing talent.

"I can't wait to be there on October 5. Thank you to the MOBO Awards and my fans."

The Price Tag star, who was jetlagged after returning from the weekend's Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, joined other leading ladies on the list.

They included Adele, 23, who is up for four awards, as well as the hotly-tipped Katy B, 22.

Scots singing talents Emeli Sand, 23, and Yasmin, 22, will battle it out in the best newcomer category with a host of up-and-coming talent.

Wretch 32 and Tinie Tempah are doing their bit for the boys by racking up four nominations each.

Elated at being nominated for best newcomer, best UK act, best UK hip hop/grime act and best song for Traktor, 26-year-old Wretch said: "I grew up watching the MOBO Awards, so to be nominated for even just one award feels overwhelming.

"I was going to attend the awards anyway but now I'll be at a table."

Chase & Status and new kids on the block Rizzle Kicks follow closely behind in the MOBO honour roll, with the dynamic duos receiving a hat trick of nominations each.

Brighton-based teens Rizzle Kicks were gobsmacked when The Razz broke the news to them that they were up for not one, but three awards.

Jordan "Rizzle" Stevens and Harley "Sylvester" Alexander-Sule have been hot property since releasing Down With The Trumpets in the summer.

Yesterday, stunned Jordan admitted: "I'm confused. I thought we were only nominated for one and that would be an honour.

"It will make our first trip to Scotland our most exciting and memorable experience yet.

"I'll just have to sit down for 20 minutes in case I fall into traffic.

"If we were to win at the MOBOs I think maybe that I'd cry a little bit. I'd definitely do a roly poly or cartwheel on stage or leapfrog the podium."
