 OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Five communities have selected Mayflower Contract Services Inc. (MCS), the passenger services subsidiary of the Mayflower Group Inc. (NASDAQ: MAYF) to provide services valued at $27.5 million during the next three years.
 The single largest contract is for Minneapolis, where MCS will provide paratransit service for the elderly and disabled with 75 vehicles beginning Oct. 1, 1993. The three-year contract is valued at $12 million.
 Mayflower has been awarded two contracts in the Chicago area to provide service for Pace, the suburban transit authority. The first contract, which begins Sept. 27, 1993, calls for MCS to provide fixed route feeder service with 17 vehicles. Routes will go by the Pace home office in Arlington Heights, Ill., and feed the River Road Train Station in Rosemont, Ill. The four year contract is valued at more than $900,000 annually.
 The second contract is a renewal of rail corridor service for corridors in north and south suburban Chicago and adds service for the western corridor. Rail corridor service provides van transportation for disabled people and runs along the same routes as the commuter trains. With the addition of the west corridor, MCS' service in the Chicago region covers an area from near the Wisconsin border in the north to Joliet, Ill. in the south. Mayflower will begin service with 26 vehicles Dec. 1, 1993. The contract is valued at $2.3 million a year.
 In Yuba-Sutter, Calif., MCS will operate 18 vehicles beginning Oct. 4, 1993. Mayflower will operate both fixed route and paratransit services for the Northern California community. The three-year contract is valued at $2.3 million.
 The Webb School of Knoxville, Tenn. has selected MCS to provide home to school transportation for the school's students. Mayflower will operate 11 vehicles beginning this fall. The five-year contract is valued at $1 million.
 The City of Visalia, Calif., has chosen MCS to operate 20 paratransit and fixed route vehicles for three years beginning Sept. 1, 1993. The contract is valued at $3 million during its term.
 Mayflower Contract Services employs 10,200 people nationwide and maintains a fleet of more than 7,800 vehicles in 26 states serving half a million passengers each day. MCS is headquartered in Overland Park, and is a subsidiary of Mayflower Group, which trades publicly on NASDAQ (symbol: MAYF)
