FITCH TO MOVE DATABASE OPERATIONS TO POWELL, WYOMING -- FITCH FINANCIAL WIRE --

NEW YORK, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Fitch Investors Service, Inc. will open a new office in Powell, Wyoming, this summer to house its corporate and municipal database operations, H. Russell Fraser, chairman and chief executive officer announced today.
"Fitch's databases play a vital role in our business in terms of analytical support and surveillance," said Mr. Fraser. "With this move, we will be able to expand its operations." He added that the unit's operating results will improve because of increased database sales and lower costs at the new location. The center is expected to employ 12 people when it opens in July.
A major factor in the move is a preliminary agreement with Northwest College, a part of the University of Wyoming system, to design courses that will enable students to work at the center. Potential courses could include finance, with a focus on the corporate and municipal bond markets, as well as programming, database operations, and other computer skills.
Fitch's Corporate Bond Database contains over 19,000 corporate bonds covering virtually all publicly offered issues marketed in the U.S. since 1956. Its 400 data fields provide complete sinking fund, put, and call schedules, offering information and protective covenants on straight and convertible bonds, and Canadian, Yankee, high yield, and zero coupon issues. U.S. Treasuries and agencies are also included.
The Fitch Ratings Database contains data on all issues rated by Fitch, including those issues insured by Financial Guaranty Insurance Corp., and is used to produce the Fitch Ratings Book. Data fields include the rating, description of the debt issue, interest rate, interest payment date, and the CUSIP identification number.
