EAST AURORA, N.Y., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Fisher-Price (NYSE: FPP) today announced it is conducting a safety campaign for its model number 9104 Deluxe (Bolster) Car Seats manufactured between June 15, 1992 and September 4, 1992. The Company has learned that the red button on the seat's buckle pops up, preventing the buckle from latching.
Fisher-Price has shipped approximately 8,800 seats in the United States and Canada and has had no reports of injury as a result of this problem.
Consumers who own the Deluxe Car Seat should call Fisher- Price toll-free at 1-800-432-5437 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. (EST) for further information about modification or replacement of the seat. Consumers should continue using the seat, visually inspecting the red button to make sure it is in place. Additionally, they should depress the button before engaging the buckle and make sure the buckle is securely latched each time by listening for a click and pulling up firmly on it.
Consumers should check the small, white label on the upper back of the Deluxe Car Seat to determine the date of manufacture and should have the seat nearby when calling Fisher-Price. Seats affected by this recall should not be returned to the store where they were purchased.
