FISHER SELECTED FOR PILOT BY THE ORIGINAL COOKIE COMPANY
 AND HOT SAM COMPANIES
ATLANTA, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Fisher Business Systems, Inc., dba Fisher Restaurant Systems (NASDAQ: FBUS), has signed an agreement with The Original Cookie Company, Inc., and Hot Sam Companies, Inc., of Cleveland, for the installation of four of its recently announced touch screen systems.
The Original Cookie Company and Hot Sam Companies, which currently operate approximately 530 specialty food stores, have selected Fisher's new Touch Screen System as one of two P.O.S. solutions to be tested in a pilot program. The Original Cookie Company and Hot Sam Companies initiated a search for a P.O.S. system to install in their various concepts -- cookie stores, pretzel stores and corn dog stores -- and following a comparative review of numerous products, selected the new Fisher Touch Screen System because of its close fit with their needs and its flexibility.
The president of Fisher Restaurant Systems, Larry Fisher, said: "We are extremely pleased to have been selected for this pilot project. I believe that our new system will be an excellent fit for The Original Cookie Company's and Hot Sam Companies' concepts and that our experience in working with national chains such as Denny's, Inc., International House of Pancakes, Ralph & Kacoo's, and Elmer's Pancake and Steak Houses will prove to be of great value to The Original Cookie Company and Hot Sam Companies."
The Fisher System will provide point of sale capabilities, cost of sales, inventory and payroll control and reporting for The Original Cookie Company and Hot Sam Companies stores. Store data is planned to be polled by corporate headquarters and fed into their mainframe financial systems. The pilot is scheduled to begin in October, and will be evaluated by mid-year 1993. If selected for the roll-out phase of the project, installations of multiple Fisher Systems will begin shortly thereafter.
