FISHER COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF BLUE MOUNTAIN SOFTWARE

ATLANTA, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Fisher Business Systems, Inc., dba Fisher Restaurant Systems, has acquired 100 percent of the stock of Blue Mountain Software, Inc., a privately held Atlanta software services firm.
Fisher designs, develops and maintains software solutions for large restaurant chains. Blue Mountain Software was a software development, systems integrator and computer consulting company specializing in point-of-sale (POS) and information systems designs and implementation.
The two companies have merged operations effective Feb. 2. The combined company has approximately 1,600 software installations and a customer base that includes Denny's Restaurants, International House of Pancakes, MCI, Lotus Development Corporation, Scientific-Atlanta, Stockholder Systems Inc. and Georgia Power Company.
According to Larry Fisher, chairman of the board at Fisher: "The acquisition of Blue Mountain Software allows us to aggressively pursue new business opportunities and to accelerate our roll out of the second generation of the Fisher Restaurant Management System. We now have the technical service capabilities to become the premier POS solution provider for the food service industry."
During calendar year 1992, the aggregate revenues of the two companies were in excess of $8 million. The companies currently employ a total of about 55 people.
As part of the merger, Fisher announced the promotion of James F. Lyon to president and chief executive officer. Larry Fisher will remain as chairman of the board of directors. "In Jim Lyon, we have a consummate executive with extensive experience in vertical software as well as software related services," said Fisher. "I look forward to consistent growth under Jim's day-to-day leadership of the company."
Jim Hamilton, formerly president of Blue Mountain, has been named vice president and chief operating officer of Fisher. "Jim's background and reputation in both the restaurant industry and the software development arena make him an invaluable part of our strategy," commented Lyon.
