FISHER BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES YEAR-END RESULTS

ATLANTA, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Fisher Business Systems, Inc. announced today its financial results for the quarter and year ended Jan. 31.
Revenues for the year were $7,173,279 as compared to $5,758,609 for the previous year. The company reported a loss of $416,251 ($0.33 per share), as compared to the previous year's loss of $1,884,198 ($1.88 per share). Revenues for the quarter were $497,625, as compared to $1,588,514 for the same period last year. The company was profitable through the first three quarters of the year before posting a loss of $493,211 for the fourth quarter. During the fourth quarter of the previous year the company reported a loss of $443,830.
Jim Lyon, president and CEO of Fisher, said: "As projected, the fourth quarter loss was the result of lower revenues due to the completion of our Denny's POS contract and the continued investment in our second generation POS software. Market acceptance of this new POS product combined with our strategy to enhance our professional service capability has resulted in a dramatic turnaround in our business since year end. In the past two months, we have increased our revenue backlog by approximately $3 million and added 10 people to our professional services staff. We expect the quarter ending April 30, 1993, to be the most profitable in the company's 15-year history, and we also believe that Fiscal 1994 will be our most successful year."
As part of its service strategy, Fisher acquired Blue Mountain Software, an Atlanta-based software development firm. Since that acquisition, which was effective Feb. 2, the company has received new business commitments from Friendly's Restaurants, MCI and Information Systems of America.
The company designs, develops and markets information management solutions to large restaurant chains and other Fortune 1,000 companies. For more information, contact Johnnie M. Engesser, vice president and chief financial officer, 3939 Roswell Road, Suite 300, Marietta, GA 30062; telephone 404-578-1717.
