FISCHER IMAGING ANNOUNCES JOINT MARKETING AGREEMENT WITH ADAC LABORATORIES

FISCHER IMAGING ANNOUNCES JOINT MARKETING AGREEMENT
 WITH ADAC LABORATORIES
DENVER, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Fischer Imaging Corp. (NASDAQ: FIMG) and ADAC Laboratories (NASDAQ-NMS: ADAC) announced today the companies have agreed to form a marketing partnership to sell and service angiographic and cardiovascular x-ray imaging systems on a worldwide basis. Under the agreement, Fischer will integrate ADAC digital imaging computer systems with its cardiovascular x-ray product line and market the system under its own label. ADAC will market Fischer x-ray generators, positioners and imaging systems with its digital computer under its label on a worldwide basis.
"This agreement will give both ADAC and Fischer an excellent opportunity to improve their competitive position in the cardiovascular and angiographic markets," said Sam Langstaff M.D., manager of Cardiovascular Imaging Systems at Fischer. "Our direct sales force is concentrating on specific markets such as electrophysiology and mammography and we have been inadequately represented in the cardiovascular market. ADAC's experienced sales force, which is dedicated to cardiovascular imaging, along with a state of the art imaging system, will provide Fischer with a strong marketing channel to the cardiovascular market."
"We are excited about this agreement and our association with a quality company such as ADAC," said Morgan Nields, chief executive officer of Fischer. "In addition to an enhanced U.S. presence in the cardiovascular and angiographic markets, this agreement will immediately provide us with a European sales force which we are currently in the process of building."
Both companies plan to introduce these new systems at the American Heart Association meeting to be held in New Orleans, Nov. 16 - 19, 1992, and at the Radiological Society of North America meeting in Chicago, Nov. 30 - Dec. 4, 1992.
Fischer Imaging designs, manufactures and markets specialty and general purpose x-ray imaging systems for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The company's newest product lines are directed toward medical specialties in which minimally invasive surgical techniques are replacing open surgical procedures.
