FIRST WESTERN BANK, N.A. ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF PRESIDENT

 NEW CASTLE, Pa., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas J. O'Shane, president and chief executive officer of First Western Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: FWBI) today announced that the board of its lead bank, First Western Bank, N.A., had approved the election of Stephen R. Sant as president and chief executive officer, and a director of the bank.
 O'Shane will remain as chairman of the bank in addition to his role at the parent First Western Bancorp.
 Sant, 46, formerly president and CEO of Beaver Trust Company, Beaver, Pa., which recently merged into First Western Bank, N.A., joined First Western Bancorp in 1990 as vice president. He was named president and CEO of First Federal of Western Pennsylvania, Sharon, Pa., by First Western Bancorp in late 1990 and moved to the top position at Beaver Trust in May 1992. In January 1993, Sant was given additional responsibilities at the holding company as senior vice president - retail banking, encompassing most retail banking functions in First Western's affiliate banks.
 In Sant's new position, he will have direct, overall responsibility for the $910 million total asset size lead bank in addition to his holding company position.
 Sant began his banking career in 1970 at Potters Bank and Trust Company, in East Liverpool, Ohio, where he worked for 15 years, last serving as senior vice president. He then became president and CEO of First National Bank of Chillicothe, Ill., and vice president of its parent until June 1990.
 Sant is a graduate of East Liverpool High School and Kenyon College. He lives in Hermitage, Pa., with his wife Terry and their two sons.
 First Western Bancorp, Inc., a multi-bank holding company headquartered in New Castle, is the parent of First Western Bank, N.A., First Federal of Western Pennsylvania and First Western Trust Service Co., with 36 branch banking offices and four trust service offices located in seven western Pennsylvania counties and one northeastern Ohio county. First Western Bank, N.A. was created Sept. 10, 1993, from the merger of affiliate banks First National Bank of Western Pennsylvania and Beaver Trust Company.
