FIRST WESTERN BANCORP, INC. ANNOUNCES PROPOSED CHARTER CONSOLIDATION AND NAME CHANGES

 NEW CASTLE, Pa., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas J. O'Shane, president and CEO of First Western Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: FWBI), announced today that an application is being filed with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to consolidate the charters of two of its member banks and change the name of all three of its banking subsidiaries.
 According to the filing details, which are subject to regulatory approval, the Beaver Trust Company and First National Bank of Western Pennsylvania will be consolidated under a national bank charter and operate under the name of First Western Bank, N.A.
 First Western's other banking subsidiary, First Federal of Western Pennsylvania, will change its name to First Western Bank, F.S.B.
 O'Shane explained the consolidation as a move to improve service to First Western's customers. "By consolidating we can offer more appropriate products and services, more locations for banking convenience, and larger, more flexible loans for our business customers."
 First Western Bancorp, which is headquartered in New Castle, was formed in 1982, and currently has assets of $1.2 billion. Through its subsidiaries, Beaver Trust Company, First Federal of Western Pennsylvania, First National Bank of Western Pennsylvania, and First Western Trust Services, it serves customers in eight counties in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio through its network of 36 community offices.
