 FIRST UNION ENTERS MYRTLE BEACH BANKING MARKET; OPENS NEW OFFICE
 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- First Union National Bank of South Carolina's newest banking facility opens today in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Construction of the 12,000 square foot, two-story office main office began in May.
 The new office features a drive-up 24-Hour Banking Machine, a drive-up teller window, three drive-up remote teller units and six interior teller windows. The building was designed by Little & Associates Architects of Charlotte. Dargan Construction Company, Inc. of Myrtle Beach was the general contractor for the project.
 Services available include traditional full-service banking, including certificates of deposit, checking and savings accounts, consumer and commercial loans and leases, Prime Equity loans and home mortgage loans.
 First Union's (NYSE: FTU FTUpr) expansion in Myrtle Beach is part of a larger capital investment in South Carolina's eastern half. This year the bank has opened new offices in Charleston, Columbia and Hilton Head.

 First Union National Bank of South Carolina is based in Greenville and operates 54 banking offices in more than 32 communities across the state.
