FIRST UNION BEGINS EMPLOYER/EMPLOYEE LOAN PROGRAM FOR HURRICANE AREA
MIAMI, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- First Union National Bank of Florida today began offering a hurricane emergency loan program to employees of major Dade County employers.
The program provides for First Union mortgage and loan counselors to take loan applications from employees on site at major companies and approve certain loan requests, such as installment loans, in two hours or less.
First Union is lowering interest rates on many of the loans offered under this special program. The program includes emergency cash, short-term loans, lines of credit, mortgage loans, auto loans, construction loans, credit cards and home improvement loans.
First Union expects to contact more than 300 Dade County firms to offer the program.
First Union mortgage and loan counselors will go directly to the companies to take loan applications and offer priority handling to save time and ensure that loan proceeds are distributed quickly.
Origination fees on home improvement and mortgage loans will be waived. Installment loan payments can be deferred up to 60 days. The first year's annual fee on credit cards will be waived.
