FIRST Stokesley Dragoons Cub [...]; your big event.

FIRST Stokesley Dragoons Cub Scouts are pictured at the start of a one-hour clean-up around their local supermarket car park.

Seventeen cub scouts, their leaders and parents spent the time collecting discarded and windblown debris from the edges and hedges of the car park. Eight bags of rubbish were filled and some larger items also removed.

It was a part of the Our World Challenge Award, which encourages the Cub Scouts to have a knowledge and understanding of the world today.

The cubs will also be celebrating a festival from another country, eating the foods associated and playing their games.

Scouting is a popular activity in Stokesley and there are places for adults to join the leadership teams in the different sections - Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

There are also places for children aged from six to 14.
