FIRST OF AMERICA RENEWS SPONSORSHIP WITH SIMON RACING

 KALAMAZOO, Mich., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- First of America Bank Corporation (NYSE: FOA) has renewed its sponsorship agreement with the Dick Simon Racing Team, as an associate sponsor, for 1993. First of America will be part of the Amway/First of America Winning Spirit Indy Car driven by Scott Brayton. The sponsorship agreement includes the Indianapolis 500, the Miller Genree toasters. Our experience with Dick Simon's team in 1992 was very valuable and enjoyable for our customers," said Bruce McCall, senior vice president, marketing. "Our philosophy with auto racing is the same as our business philosophy -- teamwork, quality and results. That's our bottom line in business and we feel the Simon Racing Team brings that same philosophy to the race track."
