 FIRST FLORIDA BANK, N.A. ANNOUNCES
 NEW FINANCIAL AND DATA PROCESSING UNIT -- FPI
 TAMPA, Fla., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- First Florida Bank, N.A. announced today the formation of a new financial processing group known as FPI. The members of this group are Financial Processors, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of First Florida Bank, N.A. and FPI, a division of First Florida Bank, N.A. The new group will consolidate the management and marketing activities of the bank's financial processing subsidiary and its processing divisions throughout Florida. This will allow First Florida to streamline its marketing efforts to take full advantage of opportunities for growth in the Southeastern market.
 Frank A. DiMarco is president of both the subsidiary and the division. DiMarco is a long-time employee of First Florida Bank and will continue to serve as First Florida's chief information officer.
 Other officers of both the subsidiary and the division include: John Shupenko, group manager of Marketing, Sales and Support; Bruce Lee, group manager of Information Systems; Tom McMahon, group manager of the Charge Card Center; Maria B. Ramon, manager of Finance and Administration; and Dan Murphy, manager of Security and Planning.
 FPI will provide a more unified approach to serve the market and provide the broad range of services that include data processing, charge card, merchant processing, item processing, backroom services and correspondent banking services for the more than 200 financial institutions the subsidiary and the division already serve, including portions of First Florida's own processing needs.
 "We will continue to invest heavily in superior technology to assure the very best charge card, backroom and correspondent banking services to our clients," said DiMarco. "It is our ultimate goal to be a major provider of these services in the Eastern U.S. by 1995.
 First Florida Bank, N.A. is a wholly owned subsidiary of First Florida Banks, Inc.
