FIRST CRAY RESEARCH ORDER IN SOUTHEAST ASIA

 KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has ordered a CRAY Y-MP EL supercomputer system to be installed in the newly established Advanced Computing Laboratory at its Jalan Semarak campus in Kuala Lumpur. This will be the first Cray Research (NYSE: CYR) system to be installed in Southeast Asia.
 The CRAY Y-MP EL will be used for large-scale computation simulation in a wide variety of scientific disciplines. The new system forms the delivery platform of a series of training courses that will be offered through the Cray Training Centre that is being set up jointly by UTM and Cray Research within the Advanced Computing Laboratory.
