 FIRST CONSTITUTION BANK NAMES EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
 NEW HAVEN, Conn., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Gary M. MacElhiney will


join First Constitution Bank Jan. 1 as executive vice president, commercial lending, according to John J. Crawford, president and chief executive officer of First Constitution Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: FCON), the parent company.
 For 18 years, MacElhiney was associated with Shawmut National Corporation, where he was an executive in charge of workout and disposition of bank-owned real estate -- following earlier assignments in commercial lending and credit management. Earlier he held increasingly responsible positions with Shawmut National's predecessor companies, Hartford National Bank and Connecticut National Bank. For five years beginning in the late '60s, he was a faculty member at The Salisbury School in Salisbury, Conn.

With established success in credit administration, lending and managing disposition of bank-owned real estate, he will fill an important role at First Constitution."
 A native of Lancaster, Mass., MacElhiney completed baccalaureate work at Yale University in 1968 and was granted a master of business administration degree by the University of Connecticut in 1976. Active in local and statewide community affairs, he resides in Guilford, Conn., with his wife and two children.
