FIRST COMMERCIAL REALTY ESTABLISHES OFFICE PROPERTIES DIVISION
MIAMI, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- First Commercial Realty, South Florida's largest industrial brokerage firm and the region's second largest commercial real estate brokerage firm, has established an Office Properties Division to represent both landlords and tenants in the commercial office market.
"We think there is a real opportunity for us in today's office market," said Stephen J. DiGiacomo, president of First Commercial Realty. "We've had great success with major property owners and tenants in South Florida, and we'll bring the same abilities and talents to the office market."
The Miami-based company has already been selected as the leasing agent for 1221 Brickell, a 420,000-square-foot Class A office building in Miami. Leasing had previously been handled in-house by the building's landlord, AmeriSwiss Associates.
For its Office Properties Division, First Commercial has opened a branch office at 1221 Brickell, to be staffed by associates Deborah Failla and Mark A. Engeberg.
DiGiacomo said his company's experience with major institutions would also be important in the office market.
"A substantial number of institutional lenders have been forced into the role of landlord, and our organization is well-suited to working with these types of client," he said.
Among the firm's major listings are Miami International Commerce Center (MICC), a joint venture between Metropolitan Life Insurance and Adler Group, Inc.; Gran Park, a development of Gran Central Corp. (the development arm of FEC Industries); Gratigny Central, a development of CSX Real Properties; and WestPointe Business Park. Last year, First Commercial Realty accounted for more than 2.7 million square feet of industrial leases. In addition, the firm leased approximately 266,000 square feet of office space in 1991, primarily flex and office space within the mixed-use projects it represents.
First Commercial Realty is one of Florida's largest and most active commercial real estate brokerage firms, with expertise in leasing, sales, development consulting and tenant representation.
