FIRST BRANDS CORP. MAKES NIELSEN MARKETING RESEARCH ITS FIRST CHOICE

 NORTHBROOK, Ill., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- First Brands Corp., a leading marketer of plastics, automotive and pet care products, has awarded a new multi-year contract to Nielsen Marketing Research effective January 1994. Previously, First Brands had been an Information Resources, Incorporated (IRI) client. This is a significant win for Nielsen and another example of the confidence the industry has in the world's leading marketing research organization.
 Nielsen will be providing First Brands with three-outlet scanning data as well as retail account reports and other analytic enhancements. Representatives from First Brands cited Nielsen's superior customer service, data quality and flexibility as primary reasons for the move.
