FIRST BOEING 777 WING FIXED LEADING EDGES COMPLETED

PHILADELPHIA, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- In a ceremony here today, the Boeing Helicopters Division marked completion of the first wing leading edge units for the new 777 commercial jetliner, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group said.
Executives from Helicopters, a division of Boeing Defense & Space Group, joined 777 Division executives, as well as hundreds of local Boeing employees, in a ceremony marking the units' completion in the division's 777 fixed-leading-edge assembly area. After the ceremony, Boeing workers loaded the large inboard wing leading edge sections into a specially designed trailer for transport by truck and train to the Puget Sound area.
The wing leading edge sections will arrive later this month at the 777 assembly facility in Everett, Wash., where workers will join the Philadelphia-built units and attach them to the 777's main wing spars. Rollout of the first 777 twinjet is scheduled for Spring 1994 with first flight from Paine Field, near Everett, in June.
