 SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The first annual Adobe Technology Exchange Conference and Exhibition will feature morning and afternoon keynote addresses given by some of the top industry executives, including the four defacto founders that provided the jumpstart for desktop publishing, Adobe Technology Exchange said today.
 Industry leaders from Adobe Systems, Aldus Corp., InfoWorld, Sun Microsystems, NeXT Computer Inc., and Xplor International will present keynote addresses at ATXPO(93) which will take attendees beyond the nuts and bolts of PostScript language technology. These presentations will provide a broader look at real-world examples and case studies of how organizations are meeting today's document creation, printing and communications challenges.
 ATXPO(93) will provide a unique and comprehensive educational program. The best speakers and instructors in the industry provide the framework for the total educational experience.
 Dr. John E. Warnock and Dr. Charles M. Geschke
 Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1993, 9-10 a.m.
 John E. Warnock, chairman of the board and chief executive officer and Charles M. Geschke, president and chief operating officer of Adobe Systems, will look at the history of Adobe Systems and its success over the last 10 years. Adobe Systems was founded in December of 1982, and the company's breakthrough technology, PostScript, was introduced in 1984. PostScript technology made it possible, for the first time, to format, store and print digital information in its full complexity. In their keynote address, Geschke and Warnock will discuss the history and future of PostScript technology.

 Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1993, 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
 Dr. Keith Davidson, the executive director of Xplor International will present "Why Have a Users Group?" In his address Davidson will discuss how user groups are a unique development in the history of vendor-customer relationships. This presentation will give a historical perspective of the development of user groups, which has arisen from the unique needs of computer systems customers and vendors. Davidson will look at recent developments which are modifying the original role of user groups. He will also outline some of the criteria for successful participation by the user and the vendor as well as some common mistakes.

 Thursday, Feb. 18, 1993, 9-10 a.m.
 Ed Zander, president of Sunsoft Inc., and corporate executive officer of Sun Microsystems Inc., will present "The World Goes Client/Server." The 1980s saw remarkable increases in raw computer performance with the advent of 32-bit processors such as Sun's SPARC RISC and Intel's x86. The 1990s are shaping up to become a decade of client/server software that harnesses this computing power. These emerging system software solutions will provide the platform for developers to create a new generation of applications -- powerful, networked and object-oriented. Zander will discuss the move toward client/server computing, Sunsoft's Solaris Solution and the alliance between Adobe and Sun. A demonstration of Adobe's Display PostScript technology incorporated with Solaris will also be shown.

 Friday, Feb. 19, 1993, 9-10 a.m.
 Paul Brainerd, the president and founder of Aldus Corp., will present "Desktop Technology in Graphic Communications: Have We Done Things Right?" Brainerd will take a candid look at the evolution of desktop computer technology in graphic design and production. He will call on some of the country's best-known designers and production pros to help him compare the benefits and challenges created by the technology; explore new approaches and opportunities for applying desktop tools; and outline a vision of an exciting future for technology in graphic communications.
 Stewart Alsop
 Friday, Feb. 19, 1993, 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
 Stewart Alsop, editor-in-chief of InfoWorld, will present "An Insider's View of Electronic Publishing." He will explore the issues raised by the merger of publishing and computing from the point of view of a publisher and industry insider. A long-time personal computer industry observer, Alsop is also the founder and publisher of P.C. Letter and producer of two annual conferences for senior PC industry executives, Agenda and Demo.
