FIRE RUINS WIN.
ARSONISTS have torched a woman's home hours after she picked up a EUR40,000 cheque on RTE's Winning Streak.
Maureen Loughran, from Kildress, Co Tyrone, returned from the show in the early hours last Sunday morning to find her home in flames.
Her husband John put out the blaze as neighbours called emergency servives and police and an Army Yellow Goddess arrived at the scene.
Earlier neighbours had cheered on Maureen as she picked up a EUR40,000 cheque on Winning Streak. The arson at the family home is the latest in a series of attacks. Cars have been damaged and police have installed a panic button in the house.
Maureen branded those responsible "scum" adding: "We could have lost our lives if we had been in the house.
"The house is gutted and we've lost almost everything from smoke damage. The fire took the good out of winning but thankfully no one was hurt."
