FINNAIR SELECTS WICAT FOR LOW-VISIBILITY TRAINING DEVELOPMENT

OREM, Utah, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Wicat Systems Inc. announced today that its subsidiary Wicat Systems Ltd., located in the United Kingdom, will develop computer-based training (CBT) for Finnair (Helsinki, Finland) in the area of low-visibility operations training.
The courseware to be developed will concentrate on providing the basic ground school training for flight crew qualifications and training as specified in the Joint Airworthiness Requirements (JAR-OPS 1-3.2007). Finnair plans to include this training in their ground training both for type and refresher purposes. In addition, because of the generic nature of the course, the training will be highly effective for engineering ground staff, ATC personnel and airport staff.
Extensive use is being made of scanned images from video and photographic material of both ground and airborne shots from various sources.
The module titles of the training course will be:
 -- Definitions,
 -- Airport Facilities,
 -- Visual Requirements,
 -- Operating Procedures,
 -- Company Operating Procedures, and
 -- Aircraft Operating Requirements
 (wide-bodied, narrow-bodied).
Completion of the course is scheduled for early 1993, and the course is available for purchase through Wicat or Finnair under a joint marketing agreement.
Wicat Systems Inc., a Jostens Learning Co., and a subsidiary of Jostens Inc.
