FINCH'S BONSU BONUS COMES AT A HIGH PRICE.

GB have shelled out around pounds 40,000 to insure NBA forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu ahead of next week's EuroBasket games in Poland.

Mensah-Bonsu, 25 and 6ft 9ins, has not formally signed a contract with his new team the Houston Rockets, and coach Chris Finch explained: "All our players are insured but Pops' situation was different because it needed a bespoke policy. You have to cover the gaps in insurance so his earning potential is not exposed." And his presence is a huge fillip to Finch as his side are without Luol Deng and Ben Gordon.
