THE USUAL SUSPECTS

Sunday, Ch4, 10.00pm

HAULED together for a police line-up in New York, five felons later decide to do just one job together.

They end up doing three - and it's a case of third time unlucky when a $90m drug haul turns into a slaughter at San Pedro harbour.

Californian cop Chazz Palminteri tries to get the truth from surviving gang member, American Beauty's spectacular Kevin Spacey.

And has he a story to tell ... constructed of increasingly dark and labyrinthine flashbacks, The Usual Suspects is a wickedly tricky thriller, thanks to director Bryan Singer, which moves confidently towards a creepy, rug-pulling climax.

Don't look away from the screen for a minute. It's unmissable.

The cast is terrific, fully up to the speed of a grimly humorous script. With Gabriel Byrne, Stephen Baldwin, Kevin Pollak and Benicio Del Toro.
