FILM of the week; MISERY, Sunday, Ch4, 10.00pm.

IT'S watch through your hands time as Kathy Bates and James Caan meet in the film version of horror writer Stephen King's classic novel.

Bates plays a maniacal nurse, who happens to be obsessed with the work of author Paul Sheldon (Caan).

As fate - and a snow-bound road would have it - Bates finds her favourite novelist in the wreck of his car - and takes him home to convalesce in her care.

What follows is one of the darkest, most gruesome and suspense-laden King films to date.

Not one to watch alone.
