 FILENET CORPORATION EXPECTS TO ANNOUNCE RECORD REVENUE AND EARNINGS
 FOR THE FOURTH QUARTER AND YEAR ENDED DEC. 31, 1991
 COSTA MESA, Calif., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- FileNet Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: FILE), today stated it estimates revenue for the year ended Dec. 31, 1991, will reach a record level of approximately $122.5 million, an increase of 19 percent over the prior year's results. It also stated it expects net income will approximate $8.1 million, or $0.75 a share, compared to $3.8 million, or $0.37 a share, last year.
 FileNet stated revenue for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 1991, will approximate $37 million compared to $29.6 million recorded in the same quarter of the prior year. Net income for the quarter is expected to approximate $3.3 million or $0.30 per share compared to $841,000 or $0.08 per share for the prior year's quarter.
 Ted Smith, president and CEO, stated, "Especially in light of the current economic environment, we were pleased with the overall results for the quarter. We shipped 40 systems during the quarter, 21 domestically and 19 internationally with a particularly strong performance in Europe and the Middle East. We shipped 110 systems for the year, bringing the worldwide installed base of FileNet systems to 500. Our overall financial condition remains excellent with cash balances in excess of $29 million, and no significant long term debt."
 FileNet expects to report final 1991 results by Feb. 21, 1992.
