FIBRONICS INTERNATIONAL INC. APPOINTS GIL WEISER AS PRESIDENT-CEO

 PEMBROKE, Mass., Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Fibronics International Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: FBRX) announced today the appointment of Gil Weiser as president and chief executive officer of the company, effective Jan. 15, 1993.
 Weiser served as general manager of Digital Equipment (DEC) Israel since 1976. Under his management DEC Israel grew from $1 million to over $100 million sales per year, employing today some 450 employees.
 Born in 1941, Weiser holds a B.S.E.E. degree from the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology and an M.S.E.E. degree from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining Digital Equipment in the U.S. in 1973, Weiser held engineering positions with Univac and Control Data Corp. and with Motorola Israel.
 Weiser is a member of the board of trustees of the Ben Gurion University and serves as deputy chairman of the Israel Management Center.
 John Hislop, currently acting as joint chief executive officer of the company together with Zvi Axelrod, will serve as corporate vice president and chief financial officer of the company.
 Axelrod has decided to resign from his office, but will be available to consult with the company, providing the benefit of his many years of experience with Fibronics. Uzia Galil, chairman and CEO of Elron Electronic Industries Ltd., Fibronics' major shareholder and chairman of Fibronics' board of directors, said, "The board of directors thanks Zvi Axelrod for his dedicated work with the company as general manager of Fibronics Israel, and for his efforts together with John Hislop as joint CEOs to lead Fibronics through the difficult period of the last year and wish him success in his future endeavors."
 Galil further stated, "The company will greatly benefit from Gil Weiser's accumulated experience in multinational companies and his well- proven leadership. His task is to reposition Fibronics in the marketplace where it deserves to be, due to its creative and dedicated employees. Weiser's nomination is a major step in the company's restructuring program that was previously announced, and which is now in implementation."
