 FIBREBOARD EXPANDS BOARD AND ELECTS TWO NEW DIRECTORS
 CONCORD, Calif., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Fibreboard Corp. (AMEX: FBD) today announced the expansion of its board of directors from five to seven members and the election of William D. Eberle and G. Robert Evans to fill the new seats. Fibreboard has been engaged in a search for additional board members to provide added strength through greater diversity and operating experience of its members.
 Eberle, 68, has a career which has spanned both business and government. He has held several top management positions including chairman and chief executive officer for American Standard, vice president of Boise Cascade, and speaker of the house for the Idaho House of Representatives. He is a director of Alexander Proudfoot Group, Ampco, Mitchell Energy and Development Corp., and Oak Industries and serves as trustee of Stanford University. Prior to his current appointments, Eberle served on the board of Hewlett Packard. He is currently chairman, Manchester Associates, Ltd., an international consulting firm in Boston, Mass. Eberle earned graduate degrees from Harvard University Graduate School of Business and Harvard Law School with undergraduate studies at Stanford University.
 Evans, 60, is currently chairman and chief executive officer for Material Sciences Corp. located in Elk Grove, Ill. He serves on the boards of Aquanautics Corp., Consolidated Freightways and Old Second Bancorp. In addition he is a former director for Shaklee Corp., Southwall Technologies and Bemrose Corp., plc. Evans has previously been president and chief executive officer for: Arcata Corp., Corporate Finance Associates Illinois, Bemrose Group USA, a British-owned holding company, Allsteel, and Southwall Technologies. He graduated from Wagner College and had post graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Graduate School of Business.

 Fibreboard Corp., headquartered in Concord, manufactures lumber, hardwood plywood, moulding and millwork, agricultural container components, precision molded industrial insulation and fire-proofing materials. It also owns and operates Northstar-at-Tahoe, a ski resort and year-round vacation and conference center in California.
