FEV, Inc. to Unveil Dodge Caliber-Based Range Extended Electric Concept Vehicle Powered by A UQM[R] Propulsion System and Generator at the 2009 SAE World Congress.

FREDERICK, Colo. -- UQM TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (NYSE Amex: UQM), a developer of alternative energy technologies, announced today that a Dodge Caliber-based range extended electric concept vehicle (ReEV) powered by a UQM[R] propulsion system and generator will be unveiled by FEV, Inc. (FEV), Auburn Hills, Michigan, at the 2009 SAE World Congress next week. The range extended electric vehicle with plug-in capability was developed by FEV to demonstrate the company's full spectrum of capabilities in hybrid engineering.

The Caliber ReEV concept is one of several new hybrid vehicle technologies that are being developed in FEV's recently completed Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Development Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The ReEV propulsion system employs a 1.0L, 3-cylinder, 4-valve engine that is mated to a UQM[R] PowerPhase[R] 75 generator that provides 41kW of continuous power in extended-range mode, with a peak power of 75kW. The energy storage system consists of a 20 kW-h liquid-cooled Lithium Ion battery pack that operates at 346V, with a Delphi DC/DC converter. A UQM[R] PowerPhase[R]125 traction motor powers the wheels.

Performance statistics for the demonstrator vehicle include:

* All-Electric Range - 40 miles

* 0 - 60 mph time - 8.3 seconds

* Top Speed - 84 mph

In addition to the Caliber ReEV concept, UQM[R] systems have also been used by FEV in electric and hybrid vehicle development programs for FEV customers.

"We are pleased that FEV has selected a UQM[R] propulsion system and generator for this concept vehicle. Concept vehicles such as the Caliber ReEV demonstrate the full range of FEV's hybrid engineering capabilities as well the exceptional performance capabilities of our electric propulsion systems and generators. FEV and other vehicle integrators will play a substantial role in the development and commercialization of electric and hybrid electric vehicles for vehicle manufacturers worldwide over the coming years and we are looking forward to continuing to work with FEV on future vehicle platforms," said William G. Rankin, UQM Technologies' President and Chief Executive Officer.
