FERC ACCEPTS TGPL RATE CASE

 FERC ACCEPTS TGPL RATE CASE
 HOUSTON, April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- In an order issued April 9, 1992,

the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) accepted a rate increase filing made by Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation (TGPL) in March. Subject to the outcome of an expedited hearing on TGPL's proposed rate of return and a technical conference on certain other issues, new rates will become effective September 1, 1992, subject to refund. As filed, the rate case (RP92-137) would increase TGPL's annual revenues by $234 million, to recover increases in operation and maintenance costs, rate base and increased cost of capital.
The FERC has directed that the issues raised in a second filing (RP92- 108) be included for consideration in the technical conference set for RP92-137. This second filing proposed a "roll-in" of the costs of TGPL's Mobile Bay Pipeline facilities into its system-wide rates and would establish an interruptible pooling service rate schedule (IPS).
Finally, TGPL had also asked that its certificate application filed as a framework for developing an incentive ratemaking program be consolidated with the rate case. The FERC is reviewing that application and action will be deferred until a later date.
