 SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert S. (Steve) Miller Jr., former vice chairman of Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C), was elected to the board of directors of Federal-Mogul Corporation (NYSE: FMO) today. The announcement was made by Federal-Mogul Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dennis J. Gormley following the company's regular board meeting this morning.
 "We are extremely pleased with this addition to our board," Gormley said. "Steve's many years in the auto industry and his international experience will certainly enhance our already strong board. We look forward to his participation in helping our company continue its aggressive growth strategy."
 During 1992, Miller served as senior partner in the New York investment banking firm of James D. Wolfensohn. Prior to that, he spent 13 years at Chrysler Corporation, most recently as vice chairman of the board. Previously, Miller was Chrysler's executive vice president and chief financial officer. He served in numerous executive positions after joining Chrysler in 1979 as assistant controller. Miller began his career at Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) where he spent 11 years, primarily in overseas assignments in Mexico, Australia and Venezuela.
 Miller holds a bachelor's degree in economics and master's degree in business from Stanford University, and is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
 He is a director and treasurer of Moore Mill and Lumber Co., a family-owned timber business in Oregon. He is also a director of U.S. Bancorp, the largest bank in the Pacific Northwest, and John Fluke Manufacturing Company, a maker of electronic test measuring equipment located in Everett, Wash.
