FEDERAL-MOGUL, ALLIEDSIGNAL, SOGEFI AND LADA JOINT VENTURE WILL SUPPLY AUTO PARTS TO RUSSIAN AFTERMARKET

 SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Federal-Mogul Corporation (NYSE: FMO), AlliedSignal Automotive, Sogefi S.p.A. and Autovaz Lada Service Division announce the formation of a joint venture to provide a wide range of vehicular parts to the Russian aftermarket.
 The joint venture, International Auto Parts, Ltd. (known in Russia as Interzapchast), will initially focus on the supply and distribution of components and accessories for the rapidly expanding import vehicle market. It will also serve the growing parts market for Russian- manufactured vehicles like the Lada. The initial distribution facility will be in Moscow.
 Among the major product lines provided by Interzapchast, Federal-Mogul will supply engine and fuel system components, and steering and suspension parts. AlliedSignal will supply spark plugs and brake systems. Italian auto parts producer, Sogefi, will supply filters, mufflers, suspension springs and mirrors.
 Aleksandr Zibarev, deputy director of Autovaz and chairman of Lada Service, will serve as chairman of the board for the joint venture. David Sanders, currently a Federal-Mogul service center manager, was named general manager of Interzapchast. Sanders joined Federal-Mogul three years ago after completing military service which included assignments in Europe and the Middle East. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Sanders will select and train Russian nationals to staff the venture.

"Interzapchast will provide Russian consumers with a broad range of products needed to service their cars."
 He added, "This venture continues to reflect Federal-Mogul's commitment to expand its worldwide distribution and sourcing capabilities into the growing global aftermarket."

It operates 34 plants, more than 70 distribution centers and four major research centers around the world.
