FEDERAL SIGNAL ANNOUNCES THE ACQUISITION OF CONTAINER TOOLING
OAK BROOK, Ill., Nov. 4 -- Joseph J. Ross, chairman of Federal Signal Corporation (NYSE: FSS), announced the purchase of Container Tooling Corporation. Container Tooling, located in Neptune, N.J., manufactures and markets precision beverage can tooling. The company employs approximately 50 people and has annual sales of approximately $5 million. Container Tooling will continue to operate under its current management and will work closely with Federal Signal's Dayton Progress subsidiary.
In announcing the transaction, Ross stated, "Container Tooling's body punch product line is an excellent complement to the tab-top tooling product line of Federal Signal's Dayton Progress subsidiary and provides Federal Signal with enhanced exposure to the growing market for precision tools used in the production of aluminum and steel beverage cans. We anticipate considerable synergies resulting from the two companies working closely together in addressing customer requirements for precision, quality and service."
Federal Signal Corporation, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, is a manufacturer and worldwide supplier of public safety, signaling and communications equipment (Signal Products), fire trucks (Emergency One) and street sweeping vehicles (Elgin Sweeper and Ravo International), parking control equipment (Federal APD), custom on-premise signage (Federal Sign), carbide cutting tools (Manchester Tool and Bassett Rotary Tool), precision punches and related die components (Dayton Progress and Jamestown Perforators).
