In the first month of fiscal 2001, receipts were $14.1 billion higher than a year earlier and outlays were $1.0 billion lower.

In the third quarter of 2000, according to preliminary estimates, Federal current receipts rose $35.6 billion (annual rate), and Federal current expenditures rose $22.2 billion.
