FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION APPROVES INFINITY'S ACQUISITION OF THE COOK INLET RADIO STATIONS

NEW YORK, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Infinity Broadcasting Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: INFTA) announced today that the Federal Communications Commission (the "FCC") has granted its consent to the acquisition by the company of the Cook Inlet Radio Partners, L.P. (Cook Inlet) radio stations, WVSN-FM, Chicago, WZLX-FM, Boston and WZGC-FM, Atlanta. In accordance with FCC regulations, such consent is expected to become final in February, 1993 when the acquisition will be consummated.
Mel Karmazin commented that, Infinity is very enthusiastic at the prospect of operating radio stations in a duopoly mode in two of the nations largest markets, Chicago and Boston as well as entering the highly desirable Atlanta
