 FEDDERS SIGNS SIX-YEAR LABOR CONTRACT
 PEAPACK, N.J., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Fedders Corporation


(NYSE: FJQ) today announced that members of Local 105 of the Stove, Furnace and Allied Appliance Workers International Union at the company's Effingham, Ill. facility have approved a six-year labor contract. The contract is effective through October 1998. Fedders if the largest room air conditioner manufacturer in North America and employs approximately 750 union employees at the Illinois plant, which is the company's largest facility.
