Michele Moorehas been named vice president of retail banking at SECU. In her new position, Moore will be responsible for all phases of retail and small business banking operations in SECUs 22 branches throughout Maryland. This includes sales and service strategy and targets, retail network expansion, community business development, and sustainment of a culture of performance and accountability. Prior to joining SECU, Moore worked in a variety of capacities for Wells Fargo Bank. She began at Wells Fargo in 2004 as a retail sales and service coach. She was promoted to regional bank district manager, vice president in 2005, and was named regional bank area president, senior vice president in 2011. In that position, Moore managed 4 branches and five district managers. She also served as senior advisor for the Wells Fargo Women Team Member Network. Outside the office, Moore is a member of the board of directors of the CollegeBound Foundation, a group which works exclusively with Baltimore public schools to help students pursue a postsecondary education. A secondary goal is to improve the social and economic fabric of the community through an educated workforce. ABOUT MICHELE MOORE Resides in: Sykesville, with myhusband and three pets. If you had not chosen banking as a profession, what profession would you choose and why? I wanted to be a lawyer in Baltimore. I mentored under a very successful attorney in Baltimore during College. I had an opportunity to observe him in action and was very impressed with his ability to debate and negotiate. I learned some very strong influencing skills that I have taken into the banking industry. Favorite vacation: I travel to Pawleys Island , South Carolina a few times a year.There are also so many beautiful places to visit in Maryland , and I definitely think Deep Creek Lake is one of them! When I want to relax, I : When I want to relax , I enjoy time with family and friends.I have a very large family, and most of them live in Maryland. Its very easy to visit them or include them in day trips around Maryland. I also take time for myself to read and listen to music. Its important to walk away from those electronic devices from time to time and just be in the moment. I need to remind myself about that everyday . Favorite books and TV shows: I try to develop myself as a leader by reading business bookson employee engagement and culture. I secretly enjoy a few HBO and Showtime series. Among my most favorite are Games of Thrones and Homeland.
