LAFAYETTE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE FEATURES)--Aug. 29, 2001

Some might say that Luiz DaHora, the head bartender at the Lafayette Park Hotel in Lafayette, Calif., could mix a drink to die for. Having a legend of loyal customers and a large fan base -- Luiz' efforts recently earned him the "Best Bartender of the Easy Bay" title as well as the winner of the "Best Martini and Best Bloody Mary" categories from Diablo Magazine -- Luiz can now lay claim to another honor. Regulars Ann & Eugene Dzuna have decided that not even their eventual demise will keep them from enjoying Luiz' cocktails and friendly manner.

When it came time to plan their trust and select their burial plots, the Dzunas considered several cemeteries, but ultimately decided that only the Lafayette County Cemetery would do. What won them over was not the beauty of the cemetery, but it's proximity to Luiz and his cocktails. The Lafayette Park Hotel sits adjacent to the cemetery (which makes for the quietest of neighbors), and the Dzunas hope to have the pleasure of Luiz' company long after they cannot occupy their favorite stool in the hotel's cozy bar.

"Our hope is to have Luiz deliver our favorite drinks to us at the cemetery and splash them on our graves," said Ann Dzuna. "We have been longtime fans of Luiz and the hotel, and this is our way of paying him a compliment. He's been a great friend to both me and my husband Gene."

"I'm honored by the Dzunas' decision," said DaHora. "Although, I'm not thrilled about pouring out good liquor and I'm hopeful they won't die anytime soon."

Nestled in the hills of Lafayette, the Lafayette Park Hotel is in the heart of Contra Costa County, near the business centers of Walnut Creek, Concord, San Ramon and Oakland, and just 30 minutes from San Francisco. The Lafayette Park Hotel is located at 3287 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, CA 94549. The only Five Star Diamond rated property in the East Bay, "The Park" is a full-service hotel with 140 luxurious guestrooms, and features the award-winning Duck Club Restaurant and the Bistro at the Park.
