FAYETTE TUBULAR PRODUCTS APPOINTS NEW SALES MANAGER

 TROY, Mich., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Fayette Tubular Products, Inc. (FTP) has appointed David J. Batts as account sales manager serving the transplant automakers in North America.
 FTP is a leading supplier of engineered automotive air conditioner hose and tube assemblies and related products, with world headquarters in Troy, and production facilities in Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee and England.
 The announcement was made today by George Mach, vice president of Sales and Marketing.
 A seasoned sales engineer, Batts joins FTP from Automotive Products, USA, Inc., where he was program manager and account manager for hydraulic clutch systems for Honda and other customers.
 Prior to that, he was the general product manager with the Valeo Friction Materials Division.
 He also had been an account manager with Sheller Globe, specializing in exterior plastics and sealing systems. At Sheller Globe his customers included Honda, Toyota, Nissan, NUMMI and General Motors.
 Batts graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering degree in 1976. He then spent six years in the Industrial Sales Division of General Electric, having joined General Electric as a marketing trainee and sales engineer.
 He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and an assistant scout master with the Boy Scouts of America.
