 FAY'S INCORPORATED NAMES OFFICERS
 LIVERPOOL, N.Y., July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of
 Fay's Incorporated (NYSE: FAY) today announced the following promotions:
 Lewis E. Kimball, 42, to vice president - loss prevention; Bradley H.
 Remington, 34, to vice president - training and communications; and
 Henry G. Scharff, 48, to vice president - store planning, construction
 and maintenance.
 Kimball joined Fay's in 1971 as a loss prevention officer, and for
 the past 11 years has served as the company's director of loss
 prevention. Remington joined Fay's in 1974 as a stock clerk, and for
 the past 10 years has held the position of director of training.
 Scharff was first employed by Fay's in 1973 as an assistant store
 manager, and for the past 11 years has served as director of store
 planning and construction.
 Kimball will report to Warren D. Wolfson, the company's senior vice
 president. Remington will report to David H. Panasci, the company's
 executive vice president. Scharff will report to James F. Poole, Jr.,
 the company's vice president - finance.
 Fay's currently operates 254 drug stores in the states of New York,
 Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Vermont, together with 28 Wheels
 Discount Auto Supply Stores in upstate New York and 33 Paper Cutter
 Stores in the states of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
