 VICE PRESIDENT - ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION
 LIVERPOOL, N.Y., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Fay's Incorporated (NYSE: FAY) today announced the election of Betsi O'Neill, 50, as vice president-advertising and promotion of the company. She will report to David H. Panasci, the company's executive vice president. In her new position, O'Neill will be responsible for advertising and promotion for the company's Fay's Drug Store, Wheels Discount Auto Supply Store and Paper Cutter Divisions.
 Prior to joining Fay's, O'Neill served as director of advertising and sales promotion at Eckerd Drug Company, the second largest drug store chain in the U.S. with more than 1,700 stores. She previously served as director of advertising and sales promotion for Gray Drug Fair and for the Southeast U.S. Division of Shoppers Drug Mart.
 Following O'Neill's election, Henry A. Panasci Jr., Fay's chairman and chief executive officer, stated, "We expect Ms. O'Neill will play a significant role in developing and executing Fay's advertising strategies. Her experience and perspective will serve as a firm foundation for fulfilling her vital role in the marketing of the company's products and services."
 O'Neill holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Miami (Ohio) University and is a native of Kenmore, N.Y.
 Fay's currently operates 254 drug stores in the states of New York, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Vermont, together with 29 Wheels Discount Auto Supply Stores in upstate New York and 33 Paper Cutter Stores in the states of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
